Zsuzsanna Jakab

Deputy Director General of the WHO, former Regional Director for Europe of the WHO

Zsuzsanna Jakab was born in 1951 in Hungary and holds a PhD in health sciences. 

Her tenure was driven by the implementation of Health 2020, a European health policy framework to support action across government and society to: significantly improve the health and well-being of populations, reduce health inequalities, strengthen public health, and ensure people-centred health systems that are universal, equitable, sustainable and of high quality.
