António Manuel De Carvalho Ferreira Vitorino served as European Commissioner for Justice and Home Affairs, from 1999 to 2004. Prior to joining the European Commission, he served as Deputy Prime Minister of Portugal. He has been member of the European Parliament, where he chaired the Civil Liberties and Internal Affairs Committee in charge of Migration, Asylum, Justice and Fundamental Rights. He served as Judge of the Portuguese Constitutional Court, and was Professor at the Lisbon Law School and Lisbon Nova University. He was President of Notre Europe/Jacques Delors Institute in Paris (2011-2016), Board member of the Migration Policy Institute (MPI) in Washington, D.C. (2005-2013) and chaired the New York based Advisory Board of the International Migration Initiative. Mr Vitorino was Commissioner of the Gulbenkian Foundation Forum on Migration and the Civil Society Platform for the Integration of Migrants. Currently he is a member of the Washington D.C. based Transatlantic Council on Migration (since 2007).

Dr. Abu Hamed from East Jerusalem holds a Bachelor’s and a Master’s of Science in Chemical Engineering from Gazi University (Turkey), and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Ankara University (Turkey), and has completed two terms of postdoctoral research at the Environmental Science and Energy Research Department of the Weizmann Institute (Israel), and the University of Minnesota’s Mechanical Engineering Department Solar Energy Lab. In 2008, he established the Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation (CREEC) at the Arava Institute. He left the Institute in 2013 to become the Israeli Ministry of Science’s Deputy Chief Scientist, and later the Acting Chief Scientist, the highest ranking Palestinian in the Israeli government. He returned to the Arava Institute in 2016 as Director of CREEC and Academic Director, and was appointed Executive Director in 2021.

Dario Nardella was born in Torre del Greco (Naples) on November 20th 1975. He is married to Chiara and father of 3 children. He graduated in Law with first class-honours at the University of Florence, where he got a Ph.D. in Public Law, Construction and Environmental Law. He is also a graduate in violin from the “Conservatorium Cherubini” in Florence. Professor at the University of Florence where he teaches Cultural Heritage Law, he started his political career in 2004 when he was elected Councilman for the City of Florence in the Democratic Party. He served as legal advisor to the Minister of Institutional Reforms during Romano Prodi’s premiership (2006-2008). In 2008 he was selected by the U.S. State Department as young Italian politician to attend the International Visitor Leadership Program. In 2009 he was once again elected to the Florence City Council and appointed Vice Mayor in the City Government of former Mayor Mr. Matteo Renzi. In February 2013 he was elected to the Chamber of Deputies of the Italian Parliament and Member of the Commission for tourism, industry and trade. In February 2014 Dario Nardella was appointed to the regency of the City until next elections, after Matteo Renzi's resignation and subsequent appointment as Prime Minister .
After winning primaries for the Democratic Party, in May 2014 Nardella has been elected Mayor of Florence with 59,16% on first ballot. He also serves as Mayor of the Florence Metropolitan City, which includes 44 municipalites of the metropolitan area. In June 2014 Dario Nardella has been elected as ANCI ( National Association of Italian Municipalities ) coordinator for metropolitan cities. He has been member of the Global Executive Committee of ICLEI - as Representative for the Europe Regional Seat and Vice President of Eurocities. In May 2019, he has been re-elected on the first ballot, with the 57,5 % and he’s currently serving for the second tenure. He's also been serving as President of Eurocities since November 2020.

Ms. Maimunah Mohd Sharif (Malaysia) is the Executive Director of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), appointed at the level of Under-Secretary-General by the Secretary-General, following an election by the General Assembly on 22 December 2017. She succeeds Dr. Joan Clos of Spain. As the Executive Director of UN-Habitat, Ms.Sharif has focused on reforming and rejuvenating the agency, mobilizing for internal and external support for the organization's restructuring and new Strategic Plan 2020–2023.Key initiatives undertaken by Ms. Sharif as the Executive Director of UN-Habitat include the adoption of the General Assembly Resolution 73/539after 14 years of negotiation,which established a new governance structurewith universal membership, governed by the UN-Habitat Assembly.Prior to this appointment, Ms. Sharif was the Mayor of the City Council of Penang Island, Malaysia. In 2011, she was the first woman to be appointed President of the Municipal Council of Seberang Perai. As mayor of a local authority, she led the Municipal Council of Seberang Perai to achieve its vision of a “cleaner, greener, safer and healthier place to work, live, invest and play.”Ms. Sharif began her career as a Town Planner at the Municipal Council of Penang Island in 1985. In 2003, she was promoted to Director of Planning and Development, a position she held until November 2009.Born in Kuala Pilah, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia, on 26 August 1961, Ms. Sharif holds a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Town Planning Studies from the University of Wales Institute of Science and Technology, UK and a Master of Science in Planning Studies from the Malaysia Science University.

Prof. Arnon Afek is the Associate Director General, the Acting Director of Sheba General Hospital and the Chairman of the Department of Medical Administration at the Sheba Medical Center after completing his tenure as the Director General (DG) and the Associate Medical DG of the Israeli Ministry of Health (2014-17).
In the MOH, Prof Afek led the reforms in Psychiatric Care, the regulation of Cannabis for Medical use and Public transparency in the publishing the outcomes of Hospitals quality indicators.
He is the Founding Chairman of the National council on Pathology and Forensic Medicine
In 2015, Prof. Afek was personally appointed as a member of the Bureau of Governors of the OECD Health Committee, taking a role in designing health policy in the OECD.
Since 2011, Prof. Afek also serves as the Director of the NY State/American MD Program and Professor of Public Health at the Sackler School of Medicine and the Coller School of Management, Tel Aviv University.
He is a Professor at the Nicosia University Medical School, Cyprus.
He chaired the Committee that recommended the establishment of the Sheldon & Miriam Adelson Medical School in Ariel.
Previously, Prof. Afek was the Director of Medical Affairs, Head of the Emergency Services of the Israeli Ministry of Health (2012-2014) and the Deputy Director of Sheba General Hospital (2007-2012).
Prof. Afek is a Col. (res) and a member of the IDF-MC Helsinki (IRB) Committee and has previously served as the Head of Occupational Medicine and Medical Classification Branch as well as the Chairman of the Department of Medical Administration at the IDF Medical Corps (2004-7).
Dr. Arnon Afek received his medical training at the Hebrew University and Hadassah School of Medicine (1981-1987), residency in Anatomical Pathology at the Sheba Medical Center and fellowship in Medical Administration (board certified Cum Laude) at the Sheba Medical Center and at the Ministry of Health.
He completed M.A in Health Administration Cum Laude at Ben-Gurion University (2000-2002).
He is a graduate of the Wexner Senior Leadership Executive Program (WSLP 16), Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University.
Prof. Afek has published more than 150 peer reviewed papers in the medical literature including in NEJM, JAMA Lancet and Circulation and has received numerous awards, including the Tel Aviv University Rector's Award for Excellence in Teaching, the Kellerman Award and the Goldberg Award, both for research in Cardiology; the Israel National Quality Award and the Award of Excellence in Military Medicine.
He was awarded in 2016 the Israeli Civil Service Commission Award for reducing bureaucracy in physician licensing and Quality Improvement Award for advancing quality of care in Neonatal Units throughout Israel.
In 2017 Prof Afek received the Society for Patients' Rights in Israel "Certificate of Recognition for the contribution to Patients healthcare".
He lecturers in numerous medical conferences and delivered The John M. Eisenberg, M.D. International Lecture at The Commonwealth Fund's 18th Annual International Symposium on Health Care Policy.
He is married to a Pediatric Dentist, Dr. Limor Afek, and they live in Rosh Ha’ayin with their two children Shahar and Oren.

Zsuzsanna Jakab was born in 1951 in Hungary and holds a PhD in health sciences.
Her tenure was driven by the implementation of Health 2020, a European health policy framework to support action across government and society to: significantly improve the health and well-being of populations, reduce health inequalities, strengthen public health, and ensure people-centred health systems that are universal, equitable, sustainable and of high quality.

After graduating from the lyceum, he attended the Department of Computer Engineering for a few months and then decided to enrol in Law School. In 2007-2008, he was appointed Faculty Advisor and President of the Student Council and, together with several first-year students, he founded the studentigiurisprudenza.it Student Association, an independent association that is still active today in protecting student rights. While attending the “Federico II” University of Naples, he launched an e-commerce, web marketing and social media marketing business which is still run by his former business partners. In 2007, he became a member journalist and publicist of the Italian Press Association. In 2013, at 26, he was the youngest-ever Vice President of the Chamber of Deputies in the 17th Parliament, until 22 March 2018. Still during the 17th Parliament, he was a member of the 14th Commission on European Union Policies and Chairman of the Supervisory Committee on documentation activities and on the Chamber of Deputies Library. Together with his staff, he activated the Business Microcredit Fund, financed with contributions from the salaries of the MPs and Senators of the M5S (Five Star Movement). On 2 June 2018, he was appointed Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economic Development and Minister of Labour and Social Policies. On 5 September 2019, he was sworn in as Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
